A Very British Moral Dilemma

Posted on February 15, 2019

I was listening to the builders who are working next door, having their tea break chat yesterday. One of them was ranting on about hanging Shamima Begum, the British citizen who fled to ISIS.His mate piped up and said, "Fuck me, chill out mate, she was 15 when she went there, who knows what has happened"? I found myself quietly applauding the bloke. He was not condoning her actions but he had taken the logical step of letting his brain pass ...

Posted on January 31, 2019

So, against what I originally thought were heavy odds, I managed the month of January without any booze. How was it then, I hear you cry? Was I crawling up the walls, snapping at my friends and family and kicking the dog? I have been trying to find an explanation to it all really and this is the best way I can describe it. It is like trying to run a mile. After 400 metres you have a stitch and think you are never going to make it ...
