People Devoid of Human Compassion

Posted on March 20, 2019

Many years ago, I was involved in a minor incident that has always stuck with me. I was on a trip away and as I sat in the sunshine, a toddler waddled past me. She was lost and a bit confused but not particularly upset.

Like a normal person, I picked her up and walked towards a group of people who were sat a few hundred yards away having a drink. Fortunately, the toddler was theirs, so they were obviously grateful for her return. They offered me a beer (I accepted) and we had a jovial chat about not much. We then went back to our own lives.

So, reading this, you will see nothing abnormal or heroic about my actions. It was a standard adult behaviour greeted with a standard adult response.

I would have forgotten about that within a day if something strange hadn’t happened shortly after. This was when I returned to where we were based. One of the people in the group I was in, with ludicrously grandiose excitement, expressed amazement at my calmness under pressure.

Remember this. I hadn’t dived into a swollen river to pluck out a drowning child, I had merely taken a toddler back to her parents. However, this person was genuinely thankful I was around to save the day. By their own admission, they wouldn’t have known what to do. Bloody Hell!

Psychopathic Hedge Fund Managers

I didn’t know this person particularly well but later in the evening I discovered they worked in the City of London as an accountant to hedge fund managers. To give you a clue to their politics, they referred to David Cameron simply as, David. Even stranger still, they referred to their work colleagues as being psychopathic in their bid to be the best.

Here was someone, who did not know how to respond to a lost toddler, complaining about work colleagues being psychopathic. This person went on to describe them of being devoid of any human compassion. They hated children, hated poor people, hated the HMRC, hated anyone who stood in their quest for wealth. All because they could say they were the best.

Please remember, these were the words of the person who couldn’t cope with a lost child, not mine.

Not long after that, there was a story in the press about some Etonian kid getting his head bitten off by a polar bear. His father held a press conference as if though he was describing the death of someone he had never met. If that had been me or most of the people reading this, we wouldn’t have been able to speak for weeks, months even.

What I am saying is that these people are psychologically off the human empathy radar, and they are running the country.

Whilst the rest of us do our best with our children and do a bit of voluntary work by helping charities or community/sports groups, or try provide emotional support to our family friends and colleagues, we are letting psychopaths run the country.

Theresa May

I am writing this blog because yesterday, I read an article in De Spiegel the German newspaper, about Theresa May (I have provided a link at the bottom of the page). It was shocking in that it cut her to pieces, with centrists in her own party calling her hateful and spiteful. The words of Mathew Parris, a Tory and a previous defender of May, were almost unbelievable.

“She is mean. She is rude. She is cruel. She is stupid. I have heard that from almost everyone who has dealt with her,” Parris says. He said he had never expected this much hatred, “and that is not a word I use lightly.”

Rather than build bridges and try to find any reasonable solution to the Brexit crisis, all that Theresa May has done is cause division. Why? Well, so she can pacify the right wingers in her party of course. These are people without compassion and an inbred sense of privilege that makes them feel they are above everything, including the HMRC.

Why ignore the centrists in her own and the Labour Party that could have given her a huge parliamentary majority for a calm Brexit?

Theresa May is married to a right winger. A ‘Client Manager’ who looks after some of the world’s most prolific tax avoiders. Her obsession with pacifying the right wing in her party can be found right there. It is obvious that the central policy of the ERG is a battle to the death to get out of the EU and rid themselves of the 2019 Tax Avoidance Directive.

The activities of these people, including 80% of the Brexit media that is owned by tax avoidance individuals, is not currently illegal, but it is of course immoral. They will fight tooth and nail with all the money that it takes, to keep the status quo.

What decent people need to ask themselves is this.

Do we want to live in a society that is driven by people who are devoid of any human empathy? People who can’t even bring themselves to pay corporation tax on their enormous wealth?

I don’t.

See the De Spiel article below. If you are interested in politics, you must read it.
