Welcome to my new web page, I think it is great. The idea behind it is to modernise and categorise it better, so certain subjects fit into the categories at the top of the home page.

I started writing these blogs about ten years ago now with the reason being that I had to write out a complex job advert one day and I found myself struggling for coherence. Writing was one of the few things I was good at during my time in state education (I could draw and paint a bit too) so to be 40 years old and no longer have that capability, was very frustrating.

So, a friend of mine (Trevor Hickman, a good writer) suggested I do a Blog as a hobby, so I did. The process of getting decent at writing is a long one and confirmation for me that the rule of having 10,000 hours of practice is the only way to be an expert at anything. Unfortunately, I have not got that time but if you log back to my earlier posts (some are appalling) you will at least see I have improved. I did think about going back and editing them all but that I felt I was cheating myself by doing that.

Writing has also got me back into reading, which is a good thing, because if you have the ability to read, you also have the ability to find out facts. Personally, I think that if you have the ability to read, being thick is inexcusable, because you are making that choice. It’s almost like a badge of honour, which is quite bizarre when you think about it. Why would anyone want to be proud to be thick? Check for the Tommy Robinson march on Sunday and you will see that there are plenty of them out there.

I am now hoping to move away from Brexit Blogs a bit more but it does leave me in a quandary. This is because although I know some people get fed up with them, they are actually the ones that get the highest volume of readers. It is is also hard not to write about something that will shape the future of our country whilst those who want to return to a golden past, scrap it out with those who prefer to look to a brighter future. It is hard to know where it will end up; hopefully not in concentration camps.

Anyway, for those of you who like reading the blogs, please keep doing so. As I said earlier, it started as a hobby but to see the readership numbers increasing does give me a bit of satisfaction and I am not sure if I would keep it going if the numbers tailed away. Flogging a dead horse has never got anyone very far.
